The Phone Call of the Week!
Ok...yes..this blog seems to suffer from an absent author lately...I am running out of time to do everything..after lunches are made, dishes emptied from dishwasher, laundry folded, etc.. I sit down to exhaustion and often fall asleep watching my fav shows like LOST (how can I fall asleep during this crazy, amazing show?!) So the thing that gives is my blog...sorry!
Yesterday, I got the phone call of all phone calls at work! Rob and I had just talked on his way to work, so then my cell rang about 45 minutes later..and the words out of his mouth made me scream with glee!
Rob: "Starting May 2, I don't have to work on Saturdays anymore..." (with a note of shock in his voice.)
me: WHATTTT???????!!!!!!! (so loud that Alicia ran across the hall to find out what I was screaming at!)
Rob: "Howie (his boss) just told me that he got some schedules approved to change...and May 2nd, I'm off weekends!"
Wow...just amazing. Rob and I have been dating since 1997, married in 2000 and we've never had Saturdays off together. What will we do, now that he doesn't have to go to work at 2 p.m. every Sat!? The endless opportunities...ahh!
Date nights! family fun! not having to take personal days off for family events!
He is so excited, and so deserves this...it is a very wonderful thing in our lives.
And it takes effect right after we return from DisneyWorld, which is only 10 days away!!!! YIKES! the suitcases are out, but must start packing! (and finding my swimsuit!)
My other big news..I went to the eye doctor today for a routine checkup, and yes...this 40 year old just got glasses! It is mostly for driving, at night especially, I've had a couple issues where I got freaked out when I couldn't see. I hope these help! I have an slight astigmatism in my left eye..and I like my new specs..I'll take a pic when I get them in a week or so!
