Rockin' My Baby....

Just got home from a church meeting...not until 9 p.m. Mom is so great to watch the girls for me, since Rob is working from 2:30-midnight... We are so blessed to live in my hometown with my mom two blocks away and my brother Matt and sister-in-law Stacey also living in our little quaint village...

Catie was nearly asleep--but I had that sweet moment of good nights with her, and the smile on her face as she saw me come in her room, and that she told me she missed me...it warmed my heart.

Mom had just put Anna down to bed in her crib and Anna was balling. Anna and I have our little routine down after putting Catie down and how could Gramma know that "the town book" is really Wheels on the Bus. (all through the "town.") I calmed her down by dancing...she always says "rock, baby"-her way of singing rockabye baby. She fell asleep in my arms. That isn't very often that she does that anymore--so I just danced with her cradled like a baby--she still fits snug in my arms with her legs wrapped around my waist--I've got to cherish these little moments while they last. I sat there staring at her little face...the kind of moment we like to memorize.

I can't believe that this past Tuesday (27th) marked her 18 month birthday--this is Anna with her new "wink!" Which consists of fluttering both eyes shut--so cute!

Gramma's Girls

So the girls were so excited that Gramma G. was watching them..Catie got to watch the Grinch on DVR, and she coaxed Gramma into giving her some cocoa (a girl after my own heart!) Then mom tells me when I got home that Catie saw the ad for The Polar Express playing tomorrow night on ABC, so she says "Gramma, maybe I can come over to your house and stay over and watch it with you!" Always thinking...she came up with a way to stay up late and watch it! :)

I'm Living in a Blogging World...

Wow--I finally did it! I spent my Wednesday evening after the girls went to bed trying to set up my first ever blog! It is definitely a work in progress...I want to create a banner and add more to this lovely little piece of cyberland that is all mine!

I don't think it looks too bad for my very first attempt, huh? The dishes are still waiting to be unloaded from the dishwasher and there are Christmas decorations all over the house downstairs--but I've been glued to my chair for awhile now up here in our office (a.k.a "computer room.") I can hear Anna breathing in the room next door--our office is right next to her room, and if I'm not careful I'll wake her...(which I really don't want to happen at 11:30 p.m)

After dinner tonight-Catie was so excited to decorate the Pooh tree! It was the first big step in our Christmas decorating...The Pooh tree is a tradition we started when Catie was only one. I always admired my Aunt Carrie and Uncle Tim's "themed Christmas trees" (Pooh & friends, Irish) and she got me hooked on Winnie the Pooh from the time I was born..So, I decided to start Catie's own Pooh tree...and wow, she has a lot of ornaments now that she is 5! Catie gets new ornaments every year...and it is fun to read the little notes of when she got them.
Anna was in awe of the tree and all the Pooh ornaments! This should be interesting now that she is walking this Christmas! I put all the "breakables" as Catie called them...near the top--the tree is only 4 ft. tall~ Wish us luck with that! :)
